Tim O’Brien Homes is a Wisconsin ENERGY STAR® partner, creating energy
efficient homes that provide more long-term value for the money. Wisconsin
ENERGY STAR homes provide a complete range of features that will not only
lower utility bills, but will offer year-round comfort and enhance the long-lasting
value and durability of your home.
The Wisconsin ENERGY STAR® Homes Program works with homeowners,
builders and the building industry to construct better homes, homes that are,
on average, 25 percent more energy efficient (a figure published by Wisconsin
ENERGY STAR®) than homes built to Wisconsin’s Uniform Dwelling Code.
In addition, Wisconsin ENERGY STAR® Homes exceed the standards for the Environmental Protection Agency’s national ENERGY STAR® for Homes Program
for new home construction.

Some of the features we use include:
• High-Performance Clad windows with an argon gas insulator and low e glass
• High efficient 92% gas furnace.
• Blown fiberglass insulation
• Sealing of all ductwork in the HVAC system
• Energy efficient appliances
• Proper ventilation exhausted directly to the outside
• Tyvek® House wrap
• Caulking all exterior plates, holes, cracks, windows and doors to
dramatically reduce air infiltration.
• Closed-Cell Foam in all basement joist ends for superior energy and
insulating performance
These features contribute to improved home quality and homeowner comfort,
and to lower energy demand and reduced air pollution. Homebuyers across
the country are increasingly interested in green building. That is because the
energy used in homes often comes from the burning of fossil fuels at power
plants which contributes to smog, acid rain, and risks of global climate change.
So, the less energy used, the less air pollution generated.
Every home in the Wisconsin ENERGY STAR® Homes program goes through
a series of performance tests and must meet specific program standards before
being certified. While the process results in better buildings - largely due to
consultants and our trade partners paying greater attention to construction
details - we are able to document your home’s performance and issue a
certification report

Your new home is now a certified Wisconsin ENERGY STAR® Home.
